Grade 5/6 (formerly U12)
Grouping: Separate programs for boys and girls in 5th and 6th grade who generally are 10 to 11 years old as of August 31st of the fall season
  • 8 weeks per season
  • Fall programs run from September to November and Spring programs run from April to June
League: This is a travel program in the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League (NVYSL) including many surrounding cities and towns where HYSA places players on teams based on individual skill level and HYSA and NVYSL place teams in NVYSL divisions based on overall team skill level
  • Two group practices/skills clinics per week on assigned age group specific weekday
  • One team practice per week on a volunteer parent coach selected day
  • Weekly home or away games on Saturday mornings at 11:30 AM (girls) and Saturday afternoons at 1:00 PM (boys)

  • Group practices/skills clinics run for 1 or 1.5 hours on assigned weekdays
  • Team practices run for up 1.5 hours on team practice days
  • Weekly games run for about 1.25 hours on Saturday mornings (two 30 minute halves plus halftime)
Games: Format is 9v9 with 6 ft. x 18 ft. goals, size 4 ball, regulation field and regulation game rules
  • The first half of group weekly practices/skills clinics focus on training and the second half on small-sided games
  • Revolution Academy coaches lead the group practices/skills clinics with the suppoort of volunteer parent assisstant coaches
  • Revolution Academy coaches build upon Revolution Academy weekly themes at weekly scrimmages

  • All players must purchase a Hudson Youth Soccer uniform including shirt, shorts, and socks
  • All players must wear their Hudson Youth Soccer uniform to games on Saturday
  • All players must bring a size 4 ball
  • All players must wear cleats or sneakers (cleats are not required but are recommended)
  • All players must wear shin guards and soccer socks to practices and games (socks must be worn over shin guards)
  • All players should bring a water bottle practices and games
  • Players cannot wear earrings, hats, hooded sweatshirts, jewelry, or other metal on their person
