Grade 7/8 (formerly U14)
Grouping: Boys and girls in 7th and 8th grade who generally are 12 to 13 years old as of August 31st of the fall season.
Duration:
  • 8 weeks per season
  • Fall programs run from September to November and Spring programs run from April to June
League: There is no Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League (NVYSL) season this fall. HYSA will form co-ed teams and play exclusively in-town.
Schedule:
  • One Revolution group practice/skills clinic per week on assigned age group-specific weekday
  • Weekly games each Saturday afternoon at 12:30 PM at Brook Street

Timing:
  • Group practices/skills clinics run for 1.25 hours on assigned weekdays
  • Weekly games run for about 1 hours on Saturday mornings (two 25 minute halves plus halftime)
Games: The format is 11v11 with 8 ft. x 24 ft. goals, size 5 ball, regulation field, and regulation game rules
Practices:
  • The first half of group weekly practices/skills clinics focus on training and the second half on small-sided games
  • Revolution Academy coaches lead the group practices/skills clinics with the support of volunteer parent assistant coaches
  • Revolution Academy coaches build upon Revolution Academy weekly themes at weekly scrimmages

Equipment:
  • All players must purchase a Hudson Youth Soccer uniform including shirt, shorts, and socks (Visit our Uniform page for instructions)
  • All players must wear their Hudson Youth Soccer uniform to the games on Saturdays
  • All players must bring a size 5 ball to practices and games
  • All players must wear shin guards and soccer socks for all practices and games (socks must be worn over shin guards)
  • All players should bring a water bottle to practices and games
  • Players cannot wear earrings, hats, hooded sweatshirts, jewelry, or other metal on their person
