About Hudson Youth Soccer Association (HYSA)

Mission Statement
The Hudson Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) is a non-profit organization formed to promote the advancement of amateur soccer in Hudson, Massachusetts, and neighboring towns. Our mission is to arrange, promote, organize, and supervise amateur soccer competition for players four years of age and older, offering opportunities to learn, compete, and grow in a supportive environment.

We are guided by the following goals:

  • To teach the skills and laws of the game of soccer.

  • To provide and encourage constructive coaching at all levels.

  • To foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others.

  • To instill the understanding that winning is not everything, and that effort, improvement, and character are the true measures of success.

HYSA is committed to continuously exploring new ideas and creating opportunities for boys, girls, men, and women to participate in this healthy and active sport.

Ages and Groups We Serve

HYSA welcomes players from ages 3 through high school. Our age group structure is as follows (based on the player's age as of August 31):

  • Mini Fry (Coed) – 3 years old

  • Small Fry (Coed) – 4 years old

  • Advanced Small Fry (Boys/Girls) – 5 years old

  • Grades 1/2

  • Grades 3/4

  • Grades 5/6

  • Grades 7/8

  • High School (Spring Season Only)

All teams are coached by dedicated volunteer coaches, with support and guidance provided by our Directors of Player and Coach Development.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At HYSA, we believe that the cost of participation should never be a barrier to a child’s opportunity to play soccer. We proudly offer financial assistance through our scholarship program.
For more information about scholarships or to apply for assistance, please contact us at assistance@hysa.org.

Our Commitment to Sportsmanship

At Hudson Youth Soccer, we believe that the game is bigger than the scoreboard — it’s about respect, integrity, and creating a positive environment for every player.

As part of the registration process, all participants are required to acknowledge a series of agreements that promote good conduct and sportsmanship. These standards apply to everyone at the field — players, coaches, parents, and spectators alike.

We ask that you please share these expectations with any family members or guests who may attend games or practices.

Hudson Youth Soccer Association, in alignment with Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association and US Soccer, enforces a zero tolerance policy for referee abuse and spectator misconduct. Any violation of these policies may result in a long-term ban from attending any Massachusetts Youth Soccer-sanctioned events.

Let’s work together to ensure a safe, respectful, and fun experience for all.
