HIGH SCHOOL RECREATION (FALL) AND GRADES 9 – 12 (SPRING) |
Grouping: | Separate or co-ed programs for boys and girls in 9th thru 12th grade who generally are 14 to 18 years old as of August 31st of the fall season |
Duration: | · 8 weeks per season · Fall programs run from September to November and Spring programs run from April to June |
League: | Travel program in the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League (NVYSL) including many surrounding cities and towns where boys, girls, and co-ed teams and divisions, which may include grade 9/10, 11/12, and 9 – 12 divisions, are formed depending on player availability and preferences |
Schedule: | · No weekly practices during the fall season due to high school practices · Weekly team practices during the spring season determined by coach and player availability · One Revolution group practice/skills clinic per week on an assigned, age group specific weekday · Weekly home or away games on Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM, 2:45 PM, or 4:30 PM · See graphic below |
Timing: | · Team practices run for up to 1.5 hours or as determined by coaches and players · Revolution group practices/skills clinics run for up to 1.5 hours on assigned weekdays · Weekly games run for about 1.25 hours during the fall recreational season (two 30 minute halves plus halftime) and for about 1.75 hours during the spring season (two 40 minute halves plus halftime) |
Games: | · For Fall Recreational, format is 9V9 with 6 FT x 18 FT goals, size 5 ball, regulation field, and regulation game rules · For Spring, format is 11V11 with 8 FT x 24 FT goals, size 5 ball, regulation field, and regulation game rules |
Practices: | · Revolution Academy coaches lead group practices/skills clinic with the assistance of volunteer parent coaches · Revolution Academy coaches use the Revolution Academy curricula to train players |
Location: | Upper Sauta field (team practices and skills clinics); Sauta Cornfield/Brook Street field (home games); and fields per NVYSL website (away games) |
Equipment: | · All players must purchase a Hudson Youth Soccer uniform including shirt, shorts, and socks · All players must wear their Hudson Youth Soccer uniform to small-sided games each week · All players must bring a size 5 ball · All players must wear cleats or sneakers (cleats are not required but are recommended) · All players must wear shin guards and soccer socks (socks must be worn over shin guards) · All players should bring a water bottle · Players cannot wear earrings, hats, hooded sweatshirts, jewelry, or other metal on their person |
